Passion For Sustainable Fashion & Depop

Depop has been a platform I’ve used since 2017. I started using it first as a platform to declutter my wardrobe which then evolved into a vintage/personal wardrobe shop as it blew up. I love everything about fashion and inspiring others to have fun with their style: styling, mixing colours with unique style choices and in general – I love the concept of circular fashion and buying second hand.

WHERE IT BEGAN

As a kid, my FAVOURITE thing to do was to dig through my grandma’s and moms wardrobes and play dress ups with my sister (obviously followed by a fashion show on an imaginary runway and asked the whole family to watch it…).

Playing dress ups is still one of my favorite things to do – every day we get to choose how we wear what we got! Whether we have an option of choice or not, we can still choose how we style what we got, alter them – have fun with them! And thats the main thing – to enjoy and get creative with what exists, and trade ideas and items with each other.

Depop has been part of my creative journey since 2017. What began as a way to declutter my wardrobe soon grew into something much bigger — a space where I could merge my love for fashion, colour and sustainability into a living, breathing project.
For me, styling has always been about playful joy — mixing bold colours, pairing unexpected textures, and creating looks that celebrate how I am feeling. I love to express uniqueness and the joy that colour brings me through my way of dressing up.

I’ve always felt like fashion is more than clothing — it’s a universal language, an extension of our personality, a form of art and a reflection of who we are and how we feel. On Depop, I found a platform to share this philosophy. What started with one or two listings of second-hand pieces evolved into a vintage shop and a styling platform that became an extension of my design/creative practice.

STORY-TELLING THROUH FASHION

I love modelling for its story telling – I love creating angles, express different emotions, play with different backdrops and colours. So I wanted to take my passion for modeling into Depop to make it more fun than it already was. Each photoshoot has become another creative outlet for me: I style the outfits, photograph them cutely and write stories. This process is not only about selling clothes, but also about inspiring others to embrace circular fashion, to see beauty in the already existing, to have fun and to understand that sustainability and style can live side by side.

Circular fashion is a movement of care – care for the Earth, for the resources we already have and for the stories that the process births. Every garment has a story woven into its fibers, every button celebrates their intricacy and one of my favourite parts about circular fashion are the stories we share when giving or receiving clothing/accessories. By giving clothes a second home, not only we reduce waste, but we also celebrate community and share creativity with each other.

Depop has become a stage where I can show that sustainability does not mean compromise — it can be bold, FUN, colourful and joyous. It’s like a community where we can give and receive to get a wardrobe that matches our personalities. How friggin fun is that?!?

This passion has grown alongside all of my creative work — from art and design to surf and film. Fashion is one of the ways I connect people to the bigger picture: that we can live beautifully and sustainably at the same time. It is this philosophy of conscious creativity that I now carry forward into my collaborations, designs, and projects.

As an artist in Australia, my work on Depop stands as a foundation and a reminder of how we can build a community that shares values of sustainability and art. This platform helps me express and expand my vision as an artist and designer even further. It’s more than a shop — it’s a reflection of how creativity, colour and care can bring us together and boost ones mental health via these elements.
